4 PROBLEMS OF FINDING GENUINE BUYERS AND SELLERS OF AGO/DIESEL IN NIGERIA

Image
In dredging, a lot of diesel or AGO is consumed, most d redging sites consume more than 33,000 liters depending on the number of dredgers working. Previously, I have written on  Diesel (AGO ) procurement/supply  which reveals how to create wealth through procurement of AGO. If you can supply up to 3 dredging sites with diesel  monthly  you will definitely become wealthy.  It is not all rosy in this line of business, series of problems can arise. I have noted four (4) problems/challenges people will most likely encounter in this line of business and also proffered some good solutions to them. "The oil industry in Nigeria is so corrupt that even locals get scammed. I am saying this because I know several businessmen and a diplomat from Nigeria who were scammed.  If you don’t work directly for a refinery or an oil company, you are most likely a victim of a scammer who wants the buyer to pay a “fee” upfront".  This is the general perception o...

9 Differences between a Foreign Built Dredger (FBD) and a Locally Built Dredger (LBD)

Image
Happy new year to my esteemed readers, hope we all had a great 2018 with 2019 already surpassing our expectations,  but if it's not yet meeting your expectations,  worry not as the year is still young.  Just keep on grinding if you are on the right path and be more patient, the result will surely be positive and if you notice you are not on the right path, simply put yourself together, go back to the drawing board and re-strategize because I know that with the right strategy even as the second month of the year is winding down, you can still achieve your set goals for the year.  To the topic of the day, I have lost count of how many emails and phone calls I have received concerning this particular question " locally and foreign built dredgers, which is better? " To answer this question, I've to be as straightforward as I can be. A dredger is an equipment used for the excavation of underwater minerals, channelization, ( take definition from our first...

FEELING CHEATED? HERE'S HOW TO ESTIMATE/CALCULATE SAND QUANTITY

Image
Happy new month esteemed readers! As we gradually move towards the close of 2018, I thought to drop a post relating to sand, how to calculate and estimate its quantity so you won't feel cheated by sellers. The density of sand is affected by whether the sand is packed (rammed) or loose, and whether it is wet or dry. When it is packed , the grains of sand are forced into a tighter formation and more matter is in the volume. When the sand is wet, water is in the sand, also affecting the total matter in the volume. The mean density of the different conditions of sand are as follows: Loose Sand: 1442 kg/m3. This dry sand has been moved or otherwise agitated to loosen the natural packing process. Dry Sand: 1602 kg/m3. This is sand in its natural undisturbed form where it has been partially packed by rain and gravity over time but is now dry. Packed Sand: 1682 kg/m3. This is sand that has been manually or mechanically packed (rammed) Wet Sand: 1922 kg/m3. ...
